Greed vs. Ambition: A Farmer’s Tale

Hey there, friends,

I’ve been mulling over something lately—greed. It’s a tricky little thing, isn’t it? We all need a pinch of it to get out of bed, chase our dreams, and maybe snag that extra samosa at dinner. But too much? That’s when the code starts to crash. I stumbled across a story recently that hit me like a bug in a perfectly good script, and I want to share it with you.

Picture a farmer, standing at the edge of a vast field. He’s told: “Run as far as you can till sunset, and whatever you cover is yours.” Sounds like a dream deal, right? A chance to grab what you want, no strings attached. Most of us would jog a few miles, turn back, and call it a win. But this guy? Greed took the wheel. He ran and ran, eyes on the horizon, thinking more land, more power, more everything. By the time he hit his limit, he collapses—gone. Sure, he “owned” the land, but what good is it when you’re not around to enjoy it?

Success Steps – Avoid Greed!

I’ve had my own dances with greed. Late nights coding, chasing bigger projects, bigger paychecks, until Pallavi gently nudges me: “Ashish, you’re missing the chai.” She’s right—ambition fuels us, but greed blinds us. It’s like debugging: you need focus to fix the error, not a frantic rewrite of the whole system.

So, here’s my two cents: dream big, work hard, but know when to stop and sip the chai. Life’s too short to run past what matters. What’s your horizon look like—ambition or greed? Let’s chat about it.

Till next time,
Ashish
